Steam and Cogeneration plant

Steam and cogeneration

Products:

Thermal power station is a power plant where water after its heating turns into steam and spins a steam turbine which drives an electrical generatorAfter it passes through the turbine, the steam is condensed and recycled in the same place where it was heated. This cycle is known as a Rankine cycle.

The main difference in the design of thermal power stations is due to the different resources generally used to heat the water. The fossil fuels used are:

  • Coal
  • Oil
  • Natural gas

Cogeneration Power Plant (CHP) is a combined heat and power plant that uses a heat engine to generate both electricity and useful heat. In the cogeneration the thermal energy, that in a steam plant is rejected as waste heat, is reused in a good way. This kind of plant is one of the most cost efficient way to reduce carbon emissions dued to heating.
Because of large number of boilers, turbines, high reliability requirements and complex operating conditions regarding this plant, the transformers to be used in this applications have to be projected according to rigorous specifications.
SEA can be partner of EPC, OEM or plant electrical officers to develop best customized solutions for any specific need.
